During the week from July 21 to 29 Eyes on Animals and the Animal Welfare Foundation worked at the EU/Turkey border to check on livestock trucks. In 2010, the border between Europe and Turkey opened for the export of livestock. Suddenly, we saw dozens of livestock trucks from all over the EU crossing into Turkey on a daily basis. Animal welfare improvements at Baskent slaughterhouse in Sincan, Ankara
On April the 15th we visited Baskent slaughterhouse. They did some really nice animal welfare improvements wich we want everebody to notice. 1 - When we went there the first time there was no roof above the waiting area.
