This afternoon we visited Taşköprü slaughterhouse. It's a small abattoir that slaughters just two or three cattle a week. Another halal cattle slaughterhouse in Turkey is in favour of pre-stunning cattle before bleeding them out, so that the animal is rendered unconscious (insensitive to pain) before being hoisted and cut.
