This week Eyes on Animals spent 5 days at a dairy farm in northern Germany that keeps the calves for at least 3 months with their mothers in the herd. IMPORTANT NEWS: Transport of unweaned calves by truck and ferry from Ireland to France systematically violates EU feeding intervals
In a response to our questions, the EU Commission confirms that there is no derogation to the feeding intervals in the case of animals transported on RORO (roll-on roll-off) vessels. Animals transported on journeys including a RORO must be fed at the same frequency as ones transported solely by road. Visit to Baijens assembly center in Baarle-Nassau
Today Eyes on Animals paid an unannounced visit to Baijens assembly center in Baarle-Nassau. We spoke briefly with the owner and received a guided tour.
