Today one of our inspectors visited the yearly horse market in Elst. Due to circumstances EonA could not arrive at the beginning of the market, but only at 12 pm. Inspection of EU livestock trucks heading to Turkey
During the week from July 21 to 29 Eyes on Animals and the Animal Welfare Foundation worked at the EU/Turkey border to check on livestock trucks. The situation at this border remains as problematic as 5 years ago; serious infringements and animal suffering were again documented. We are now working on follow-up action. Today we had a meeting with Vee & Logistiek, a Dutch organization of animal traders and transporters headed by the Netherland´s ex-Minister of Agriculture, Henk Blekker.
