Today, a team from EonA and TSB | AWF has again carried out an inspection at the border. We visited the feeder bulls at both of the locations where they have been for 3 weeks. Unannounced visit to Leeuwarden veal market (NL)
Today Eyes on Animals made an unannounced visit to the veal market in Leeuwarden (NL) where on average 600-800 calves, between the age of 2-3 weeks, are sold for further fattening. The calves were kept in groups and were provided with thick bed of straw to stand and lie on. Some of the calves were seen jumping around, enjoying their new-found freedom. Access to poultry during transport now possible with Stork’s new containers
On Monday June 8th Eyes on Animals visited Plukon poultry slaughterhouse in Maasmechelen (Belgium). The broilers are now being transported in a new container system from Stork company. Tonight a team from Eyes on Animals was conducting random inspections of animal transports on the roads in the Netherlands.
