New ramp at Tamale livestock market in Ghana
Positive steps forward in Ghana! Last year Eyes on Animals team joined WACPAW to inspect the Tamale cattle market in Ghana. Because there was no proper loading ramp, cattle were dragged, pushed and hoisted up onto the lorries. During the July heat wave, Eyes on Animals visited various slaughterhouses in The Netherlands. At many of the slaughterhouses, we saw pigs with (severe) heat stress. Total ban on exhibiting horses with docked tails at Dutch fairs
Our lobby has been successful; there is finally a TOTAL ban on exhibiting horses with docked tails. This was just announced by the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Mrs. Schouten.
